OUCH!!!!

I'm in pain.... not this kind of pain, thank heavens!  Seriously why did I ever get out of my workout groove? I can tell that tomorrow is going to be a day that I live on my main floor and use my little ones to run up and down the stairs for me :) My yesterday's workout was awesome! I really love going to the gym cranking my ipod and zoning out while sweating my worries away!
Which brings to me how do you deal with post workout soreness?

This is how I deal.......
  • Drink tons of water
  • Stretch out keep those muscles loose
  • Foam roll (er Dawn can you do that for me??? left my roller in UT at her house :(.)
  • Hot & cold showers.....not a fan but they do work.
  • Call on the troops aka little ones to do my bending!
  • Remember the pain so I don't get out of the groove again :)
I am sure there are many more but these are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

What are your tips and tricks???

Foam roll, stretching, and right after a long run I soak my legs in an ice bath for 10 minutes. Works wonders to prevent soreness from happening.

I know the feeling! I think the best thing to do is keep exercising, even if you're a little sore. It goes away eventually!

When I went to Bodypump class for the first time last week, oh, in about 3 weeks, I felt the pain the next morning. So, I swam. And then the next day I still felt sore, so I ran and biked. I gave myself a day off on the 3rd... to fully recover!

I thought of you last night as I was at the gym, running my little heart out on the treadmill. It was a GREAT workout!

I love the "I had a GREAT workout" pain! It's so good. I use a foam roller, take Aleve, drink water and get massages. Or sit in the hot tub at the gym!

Ice baths are great, but I love this tip my trainer gave me.
Apple cider vinegar baths. They really work.

After my marathon last summer, I alternated the ice bath with a warm/hot apple cider vinegar and I really felt fantastic!
