Multi-Tasking

Yesterday I knew I needed to run and thought what why not bring the bikes
along and let the kids ride while I run. . . .
Brilliant idea I must say! This track isn't any regular track it's super sized!!! The kids had a great time riding and I was able to run. I must say they passed me a bunch of times. You can cover so much more ground on a bike.
THE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
As I ran and watched my kids bike around. I couldn't help but become overwhelmed with happiness, gratitude and appreciation. For the beautiful place we live and the bodies we have that are able to accomplish the things many great things we do. I was so happy to see my kids enjoying the outdoors being physical and most of all being safe. They all know they are not allowed on ANYTHING with wheels without a HELMET.

Are you able to enjoy family fitness?
What do you do for family fitness fun?

My next post will feature my BIG

How fun! I wish we had a place like that around here where I could run and the boys could bike. Fabulous!

Kids are meant to be outside as much as possible, well done for using your workout as an excuse to get some fresh air into their lungs, especially on a bike!

Your location is amazing by the way!

Cheers

We have this 4 mile walk the kids go with us on. The best is when we hike with them, they have their lulls but all in all it becomes an adventure for them.

Great pictures. I love that as a mother we can set a good example of healthy living as we do active things.

That is a great idea. My nephew and I used to do that all the time when we lived together. He would ride the bike and I would run. He stayed with me though and we were on sidewalks, not a track. But your idea is a great one!

Thanks for the comment on my recent race report!

Great work on all you've achieved!!!

I love that you brought the kids along. I don't have kids but if I ever do I believe that teaching them that daily exercise is part of life. You brush your teeth, you make your bed, you move your body (except I don't actually make my bed most of the time - but I do brush my teeth & exercise ;) ). Hopefully if it is a normal part of life it won't feel like a chorse or something they have to do! Great work girl! Can't wait to hear how the half marathon goes!!!

Can't wait for the special surprise!! We are going to start doing family runs on the trail. I just got my hubby starting to run occasionally. My youngest daughter LOVES to run. My oldest I never thought was much of a runner until yesterday at her jog-a-thon when I witnessed her tie for first doing 5 huge laps. She did awesome and said she wanted to keep going. :) She is soo going running with me. No more excuses from that one. :)

That is so fun getting out together with the family for exercise. I was really happy to see the kids wearing helmets. We see so many kids riding in the road and no helmet.

Hmmmmm wonder what the big surprise is?????

That is an excellent idea. Good for the kids, great for you. I have daycare tomorrow and am taking my two oldest ones biking with Mike and I. I'm not sure how far they can go but figured we'd start out with a 5 mile trail and see. Thanks for stopping by. Take care and God Bless!!
