Are you sick of seeing what I am eating yet???
It it making me feel totally accountable! I really went to the animal cracker box like 5 times today and NEVER ate one. I KNOW one wouldn't kill me but I knew if I ate 1 I would WANT the whole box!
We went to the Farmers Market tonight, LOVE it!!!! Where else can you get street tacos, fresh veggies, and tons of cool trinkets?
My workout was cycling! 53 minutes, 15 miles, and 853 calories :)
Okay now for the fess up..........
heart pounding..........
starting to sweat........
READY TO ADMIT!!!!
I am pulling out of my HALF MARATHON.
WHY????
I like running..... do I love running? Unfortunately no!!! I was hoping to have running be my passion, however right now it isn't. I plan to maintain a 5 mile base, so that I can use it as cross training. I am afraid if I keep running it will take away from my cycling. I never imagined CYCLING to be something I could do, let alone LOVE. I imagined me as a RUNNER. I love reading about others running passions and will live my running through all my runner friends. To be able to train for a few BIG bike race this fall I am going to need to dedicate my Saturdays to spending lots of time in the saddle.
This was a hard choice to make, however I am happy with the decision I have made.

Quitter????
Absolutely NOT!!!
Passion Chaser???
FOR SURE!!!
PHEW!!!!
*That was a HARD HARD HARD post to write.
PLEASE DON'T HATE :)

Lindsay I'm loving seeing what you are eating. My husband and I are coming to the States in a few weeks time and it's great to see the different packaging and brands of foods that I eat here. I've stood in grocery stores in other countries and been totally overwhelmed and unable to find things as everything was so unfamiliar. Thanks for the help.:) As for changing from running to cycling. Go for it, follow your passion and interest. It's one way of showing self-care. I'm up late watching the Tour de France, dreaming of a cycling holiday in France when I'm well enough. :) Have a great day.
What a great blog Lindsay. You are such an inspiration. Maybe you should run for office.
Choosing cycling making you a quitter??????????
No way! I can't run for reasons as diverse as knackered knees due to age, rugby and army stuff, plus I hate it anyway!
Cycling is brilliant for weight loss and being low impact for your joints, what's not to love?
Keep going and keep blogging!
I love the food pics - don't stop. As for the cycling, how would you have known if you hadn't tried? We love bicycling and have set a goal to ride at least one rail-trail in every state. Aggressive goal? You bet, but that's what makes them fun.
No disappointment from me here- I'm glad you're doing what you want. It's OBVIOUS that you love biking so I say keep doing it!
Good for you! Deciding that you'd rather follow your cycling passion is nothing to be ashamed of! You're still getting yourself off the couch and being active. It's not like you're just giving up exercising all together! You have to do what you love or else it will seem like work! Good for you and good luck with your cycling!
Love the posts with the photos of what you are eating. Good for you for pursuing your passion. it can be difficult to switch goals sometimes.
I'm curious as to what all was in the last picture.
I think you have totally found a new love and it is just fine to pull out. If running is not your thing then go with what is. I am hoping to get a bike this fall and use cycling as my cross training.
No hating! You should definitely do whatever you enjoy the most. The main thing is to get out there and be active and love life! I'm trying to work more biking into my workout schedule, so I'll enjoy reading about your cycling adventures :)
Why would we hate!? You should do what you love!
What?!! Taking up hardcore cycling definitely does not make you a quitter!! Not even close!
While I completely & totally love running and wish everyone else would, too, it's not for everyone! If you don't absolutely love it and commit to it, the half marathon is going to succcck! And that's no fun. That'll just make you burn out! Do what you love and keep us informed -- you're very inspiring!
You are certainly not a quitter. Life presents us choices that we need to make, and a wise person makes wise choices. I think you know what is good for you and you made a wise choice. You have done great in managing your weight loss, and I enjoy your blog.
Choosing what you love doesn't make you a quitter! It makes you smart - you will stick with something you are passionate about.
Finding something you love ~ that is a true measure of success!
I think it is better to find what you love, doing something you don't can be torture. I understand being accountable, it is the reason I started blogging in the first place.
Good girl, do what you LOVE!!!
I just started training for a half marathon, too bad we couldnt train together! Glad you found something you love to do!<3

You can't love everything right? At least you found what you love. I don't think you are a quitter. GO GET IT!
No hate here! I think it is great that you've decided to do something you love instead of something you just want to love.
Those street tacos look amazing!
I dont love running either, give me the choice of a bike or run, the bike will always win, in my personally opinion, biking is just more fun. Running hurts.
LOL! I was doing a couch to 5k program and realized I pretty much hate running. I started hot yoga and actually love it. It's good to do what YOU want. So don't worry about it. ;)
Curious, how do you not go for the snacks? I have slowly been packing on some pounds and can't seem to get a grip. Eating healthy is constantly on my mind, but I cant actually pass up the treats. Any advice? xo- karrie
So super duper proud of you girl. Happy you've found your passion :)
Following your passion is admirable! Keep up the cycling and great work. You are an inspiration to many!
Great job! I'm sorry it was hard to write. I really value genuine blogs though. Thanks for being honest.
Question? How do you divide your commenting/roaming blogness? I've noticed you rock it, because you come back to visit mine even when I haven't been to yours in a loooooooong time.

Love your blog! WOW - down 116.4 pounds - you rock!!! My Dad rode his bike all the time while I was growing up... Never have tried it myself but I know he found many years of joy through riding. Whatever your exercise of choice is, all that matters is that you enjoy it! Keep it up!
Cheers to chasing your passion! I am glad that you have found something that you love:) I hope that you have a great weekend Chica!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Don't feel bad about pulling out of the race. If you aren't into it, no problem, go with your passion!
I don't see a quitter. I see a cycler who has emerged from her running shoes!
Linds you are so not a quitter. You were looking for something to do to help you get remotivated. You tried running and discovered it wasn't a passion. That DOESN'T make you a quitter. You have found a passion in cycling so that is what you should persue.
Yeah, no foul here. Tell us more about the bike races.
You gotta do what you love! You can love the idea of running without actually loving running and it's ok. Plus cycling is much lower impact and probably something you can do alot longer in life.
I love your food pics...but are you sure you eat enough?!? Or am I realizing how much I actually eat during Ironman training! hmmm...
You definitely did quit. You made a choice.
The bottom line is if you don't enjoy what you are doing..you won't do it.
I like your foods pics. It makes me feel like I am not the only person making a sacrifice out here.
I think you made the right move. Follow your passion!
And if you're feeling guilty, I'm sure there's a way to calculate the biking equivalent of a 1/2 marathon.
Biking rules! :-)
Lindsay, I just found your blog so no I am not tired of seeing your food. Run or not, lift or not. You have a passion for being healthy it seems so thats what counts. Be healthy anyway you enjoy it would seem to be a great rule to adopt.
Ok - I'll admit it. A little sad you're kicking running to the curb. But I understand! Keep on track is hard so whatever you enjoy the most is what makes you stick to it... Ride on my friend...
I LOVE those fruit strips!
no hate. i'm obviously sad because i love running so much but you need to do what makes you feel the best :) so rock on for listening to your passion
I tried to be a runner too, but after a while I was like "why am I doing something I hate??!!"
I hope to get to the pool next week. Great job on your last ride too!
I love seeing what you eat - makes me fell accountable too. Keep up the riding and running. I'm off this morning to get new grips.
Good for you! I am proud of you. So many people do things out there that they don't enjoy and in the end it only makes them resentful. If your heart is not into running a half marathon then good for you for recognizing that! Take a big sign of relieve and then pat yourself on the back for having the guts to follow your heart and your own gut!
I'm loving that you post what you are eating!! :) I just bought that cereal yesterday...is it good?!?
Oh you better believe I'm hatin'! ;-) JUST KIDDING! :-) Glad you found your passion. I enjoy a good bike ride, but LOVE running. Everyone is different. It's all good.
I LOVE street tacos. YUM!
If you can do a 5 mile run as a solid base --- you are a runner, just not something that you enjoy!
You are not seen as a quitter either! You're doing an awesome job - keep that up!
BTW -- you can't just have one animal cracker -- way to resist!
Thanks for the comment on my blog! I like your blog and am your newest follower!!! :)
It sounds like you are still going to be running - and 5 miles is a respectable distance.
I am training for the MS 150 bike ride on Aug 7 & 8 - so I have been biking quite a bit lately, plus I am doing a 1/2 marathon on Aug 21st, 2 weeks after the bike ride. I love to bike and would be sooooo thrilled if I could bike 17 miles an hour . . . which is what your 15 miler calc's to. I am using a hybrid bike - and wonder how much faster I would be on a road bike? GREAT job and keep on pedaling. ;-)
You are awesome!! Way to follow your passion. Running will always be there! I am scared to even think of cycling...running is complicated enough as it is! Nice job on your eating....wish I was as disciplined.
Do what makes YOU happy! That's what it's all about!!
Nope..this makes you a bi-athlete. I think its WONDERFUL.
I love how you frame and label your photos - it's so fun.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I have been following you for a couple of months. Love all your posts. They have helped me keep going. Just hoping to get past the point I always quit. I don't particularly enjoy running either, but it is what I am doing right now. I can barely run 2 miles. Since I am just starting I will give it some more time before I decide I hate it.
Enjoy biking. If you are not loving what you do, chances are you will find an excuse to quit all together.
I always wanted to be a runner too! I tried and tried and just could not get myself to love it. AND, I was getting injured. The worse injury was last April when I developed a stress fracture in my femoral neck. I am still not feeling back to normal from that. I tried getting back into running and now I run "funny". No one can seem to figure it out but it gets better the faster I run, but of course I can't keep up that kind of pace. But cycling, I LOVE it!! I wish I had tried it years earlier. I sometimes feel like signing up for a triathlon, it seems like everyone I ride with does them, but I really don't think it's in my future.
I was at the Tour de Donut and found your blog through a friend. Great job on the weight loss! That is amazing!
I run, and when people tell me they should start running, even though they hate it, I say, don't do it! There are tons of things to do out there that you could LOVE! That being said, I think you should give triathlons a go :) The cross training is awesome, and if you do a sprint distance, you only run 3 miles!
Thanks for sharing your story!
