What The Hail?

Utah Weather is CRAZY!!!!
Today I ran my first 5 miles!!! Well 5.4 to be exact :)
When I started out my run it was semi sunny and nice! About 10 minutes into it I was greeted by ugly gray skies, about 5 more minutes and HAIL, it was hitting my teeth and getting stuck in my eye lashes. Once the hail passed it was rainy and windy!!!!! This wasn't going to stop me from running my first 5 mile run though :)
The temperature was a cool 49 degrees.
I was STRONG though and finished PROUD!!!
Today I ran 5.4 miles in 1 hour and 11 seconds!!!!

I would have NEVER thought I could do this until I tried.

What have you accomplished that you thought you NEVER could?

  1. Congrats Lindsay on your first 5.4 ;) mile run!! Way to go! What have I accomplished that I haven't thought I could? Pull-ups! I've been trying forever to master a pull-up and I am finally there! I am up to 5 chin-ups (easier version) and one full pull-up. Yay!

  2. Yay! Congrats on 5 miles!
I'm still working on my accomplishment, I never thought I could lose more than 10 pounds. I've never lost more than that, but this time around I'm determined to lose that and more.

  9. Hi Lindsay, YOU ROCK!! Way to go - that is a great accomplishment. I accomplished today, what I thought I would never do and that is...I finally got on a rowboat! There were 16 people on the boat, we did racing starts, rowing drills and even played chicken with a barge...just for a second. That was scary!! It was fantastic. I would encourage everyone to try something they thought they would never do. It's life changing!!

  11. Wow! Congrats!!! :) And in a storm no less. Amazing...

Well, I just started running and I would have never thought that I could run for a full two minutes. I know that sounds lame, but it is a big deal for me! :)

  12. Wow, that's AWESOME!!! I can't believe you ran through hail! : )

How did you start out running? Did you build up from walking to jogging to running or have you always been a runner?

  13. Wow you are so awesome!!!! I think I'm going to be a runner...when I have a little less fat to flop around! :)

  15. Congratulations. You have mountains of determination. I finished my 1st Turbo Kickboxing class (and the last chance workout one to boot) today. It's been many moons since I finished a class. I usually come up with some lame excuse about being overheated (not really an excuse) but today I worked through it and finished.

You didn't let a little rain, wind or hail stop you! Awesome.

  37. Great job running 5.4 miles today!!! Congrats on the weight loss.
I, too, have used running to loose weight; 40 lbs. Yesterday, I did my longest long run, 9 miles, in preparation for my first half marathon at the end of June. I never thought that I could run that far. Well, I did walk at mile 2, 4.5, and 7 ... but still I did 9 miles!!!

Can't wait to see what else you accomplish.
    Have a wonderful day.

  41. Hey, Lindsay! Thank you for stopping by my blog! Yes, blisters are so frustrating! It's not really an "injury" but it sure is just as debilitating! Hopefully you aren't dealing with anything similar right now.

Congrats on your recent long run! You have every right to be so so proud of yourself, and I hope you have so many more successes and confidence-boosting runs soon! :) Keep up all your great work!

  52. Enjoyed the reading! I've been looking for the effective gear to improve my runs and stumbled upon militarygradenutritionals.com/blog/. Besides many useful advices, I have also read there about natural nutritional supplements called military grade, which help athletes and military to enhance their endurance. I have tried the ones they've written about and was impressed how quickly my tone went up. I was able to double my distances and had enough energy even after the finish! This product makes my trainings much more effective.
