Do You Roll?

Do you have a  foam roller? I love mine, I use it almost daily!!! I find that it works so well to relieve tight muscles and works out most of the kinks. If I use it often enough it can save me a trip to my massage girl. Which means saving money, which means a happy Husband :)
I roll my back, gluts, quads, hamis, calves, shins, and especially my hips. I have found that I prefer the 18" foam roller to work the best for me.  The advantages of foam rolling are. It stretches muscles and tendons by using your own body weight. It increases blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues. It's simple to use and your body benefits so much from using it. If you don't have one go get one and try it out!!!
* Thanks to my 10 yr. old son for his "awesome" photography skills :)

One tip that I learned the hard way would be make sure your hair is pulled up! When you roll your back you end up getting stuck when you roll over your hair. NOT SO FUN ;)

My daily caloric intake today was 1192.
I didn't workout today. Sundays are my rest/recovery.

I hope everyone has a good week and has awesome runs, workouts, or weight training!
Good luck this week :)

You know I roll!! The roller helped to fix my IT band injury. That and my massage lady. I still have to visit her sometimes, but saving money is good;) Love the blog!

I will have to try that, I need to get back in the habit of stretching, yoga, relaxation techniques and all of that.
Congratulations on all you have done. I think it is amazing. You are truly my inspiration.

Curious what type of eating plan are you on? Seems kinda a low calorie intake. My suggestion is to check out Fat 2 Fit radio. It gives a lot of great information for weight loss that can last a lifetime

I actually use Fat Secret. Thanks for the tip though! My calories have been low the last 2 days. They are typically between 1300-1800. I haven't been hungry at all and have eaten around that amount of calories for over 4 years. I do have a 1 day a week that I don't count calories and I try to zig zag my calories during the week so my body doesn't get "stuck". I'm thinking though that the running is going to burn more calories and I'll have to reevaluate my plan :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! You look fantastic! I started back to my weight loss journey in January to lose 32lbs - 22 of which I regained after a 72-loss. I've never heard of using a foam roller. Where did you get yours?

I got my foam roller at Sports Authority. I have seen them at target too!
