After my run I felt so proud of myself . I felt accomplished and at the same time I thought to myself the half is 10 miles longer then I just ran!!! I know I can do it though! It's all in the training and being well prepared. RIGHT???
After my run!!! I was so happy I thought it was a "Kodak Moment." Next time I need to stand up straight and suck my belly in! Talk about POOR posture! My first time trying out my new shoes too!
I LOVED em!!!
As for my daily caloric intake I have no idea what it was. I have 1 day a week where I still TRY to eat relatively healthy, but I do not track it. I allow myself some snacky/dessert foods. Well today we had a family get together and so I choose today to be my "free" day. It typically ends up being a Saturday or Sunday that I go calorie tracking free! What do you do? Do you have a "free"day? Do you have a free meal? Or are you super amazing and can eat awesome all time?

YEAH!!!! I LOVE exercising outside more than anything. I admire those of you who can stand running on a treadmill! Really Lindsay. We need to go on a run together this week. Call me or let's talk tomorrow and we'll make a plan!
Congratulations! Doesn't that feel amazing. Keep up the good work and take it slow and steady. Before you know it you will be running 6 miles!
congrats on the outside run! as far as free days, i think i'm having a free week and i need to nip it in the bud. thanks for stopping by my blog :)
Thank you for your nice comment on my blog. I read about your story, and it's great! You've maintained a 112 loss for 4 years.
Lately there has been one of those "anonymous" commenters going around snarking at people, saying don't get smug, come back when you've maintained it a year or two.
Well, YOU DID! For 4 years. What a great example. I have no doubt you will get all the way to your goal.

Wow! Just found your blog through a comment on left on mine. Love it!!!! Your pic looks great and what an inspiration you are. I can't wait to read how you do with your runs. That is one of the big things I have been working on the last few months. :)
Yes, I eat awesome all the time LOL!
I have never done that one high eating day a week, because I want every day to be a high eating day...but it is a good idea to give yourself a day like this. I do once in a while, but my 'overeating' is usually distributed more evenly throughout the week, depending on what unexpected temptations come my way...
Yay on the running outside, and that is a great time IMO. Especially since it sounds like you run in the hills. Where I run/walk it is almost constantly uphill and downhill, so I have never really run 3 miles without stopping for walking breaks. Maybe I will work myself into running a half-marathon. That idea kind of appeals to me for some reason.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
Way to go on the outside run!
I don't have a "free" day where I don't track (I definitely have some treats though throughout the week), but that sounds like it's really working for you!
Lindsay, I'm SO impressed with your running and enthusiasm. You have to keep celebrating your acievements like this...it will keep you motivated and HAPPY! Great job and keep working towards these wonderful goals!
Thank you so much for commenting on my blog! I'm so glad that you did and that I "followed" you to your blog. Your story is amazing!!! You are SUCH an inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) YOU have made some amazing strides! I think it's fantastic you are training for your first half marathon, so am I! Well, I'm not training yet, I start training in June, mine is in October.
I wish you look with your journey and I plan to follow along! :)
Nice work Lindsay!! The picture is awesome....you look so happy:) Keep it up!!
I just started trying to run at the gym and basically, I hate it. HA! I'll keep at it though, slow and steady. I know it's a great workout. Congrats on your run!
Ahh!!! That is SO awesome, girl. Of course you'll be ready for the half. It's such a cool thing how much we improve from week to week.
Wow, that's great!!! Congrats!
Yay for you!! You're doing so great, keep at it and soon you will notice improvements in your running economy and overall fitness and 3 miles will fly by - and you'll be on your way to 10, 11, 12, 13!!!
As far as "cheat" days or whatever we call the days where we go hog (literally??) wild on whatever we want, I've been trying to nix them from my plan. I feel better overall and see weight drop much faster when I don't allow a cheat day. I am by no means a food saint, I had a chocolate meltdown earlier in the week, but I notice a big difference in how I feel when I have the junk.
PS - let me know if you want a coupon code for the Bondi Bands. I've got a couple! ;)
Awesome!! Outside running is the BEST!!
Nice job on your run girl! I can't wait to get outside to run!
Congrats on the outside run! Way to get the three miles in! You can definitely train for a HM, just take your time and follow a plan.
I've never been good at tracking meals. I just try to eat healthy as much as I can and try to keep my splurges under control. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I workout like a crazy person and try to eat healthy like 85% of the time. I choose my cheat day on Saturday to eat mostly whatever I want. However, I will go to Starbucks and get a light frappe or order something without whip and skim milk. I will still choose healthier items while dining out. Even when I drink alcohol I choose lighter beers. Btw, love your shoes!! I am a Muzuno girl tho only because they are cheaper and I replace my shoes so often (I log about 30-50 miles a week---told ya I was crazy!!).
How do you track your runs? Are you using a Garmin?
My hubby and I eat pretty disciplined most of the time so I don't pay too close attention. I don't feel guilty if I have a donut at work (although I do confess it on my blog-haha) b/c I know it's part of this whole process. Not allowing yourself to EVER splurge would make it impossible to maintain this lifestyle-which is the goal after all- to MAINTAIN it as a lifestyle. I love your 1 day a week idea!
Ok, I've left a ton of comments tonight- sorry to be all stalkerish but this is the 1st time I read your blog.
Kelsalynn I am using a gps tracker app on my phone. I also used mapmyrun.com and they were both spot on :) I really want a Garmin, that's what I'm asking for for my birthday in June :)
Congrats on running over 3 miles, thats awesome!!
Congrats on the run! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
I don't ever have a cheat day, but I don't track calories either...I do South Beach, so it's a bit different.
Sounds like you had an awesome run! I only run outside - I tried the dreadmill once for a mile and hated it (of course I live in Houston where the worst of our weather is the heat and humidity).
Ooooh, the Garmin is the best thing on Earth - got mine for my bday in March and Love, Love, Love it!!!
