Paybacks. . . .

I just have to say the day after vacation is not a fun day!!! You feel awful from the poor vacation food, tired and lazy!!! I honestly stayed in my pj's until I went for my bike ride!!! I won't tell you what time my ride was ;)
My yummy food from today! I didn't have the energy to figure the calories but this is every single item that entered my mouth! In the order it entered my mouth. For dinner it was Mango Black Bean Chicken tacos. YUMMY!!!!

FITNESS. . . .
I would LOVE to say I had another amazing ride however it SUCKED big time!!! Like it was the hardest thing I have done in a LONG time. It was suppose to be an easy ride, NOPE!!! Well the ride it's self was easy......My body was just full of JUNK food I indulged in all weekend. I guess it was my bodies payback  for feeding it awful food!!!
My ride was 40 minutes and burned 644 calories. That alone made it worth the suffering. After my ride I headed to the gym to do a Yoga class..... well I was late and the class was FULL. So no Yoga tonight :(

How do you eat when on vacation?

Today is my Dads 50th birthday!!!
Happy Birthday DAD!!!

Now I feel old! My hubby turned 50 this spring and I am just a few years a way which makes me old enough to be your mother!!

I struggle on vacation. But I am learning how to balance the fun of great vacation splurge eating with not going overboard.

Looks like a great day of eating. Good for you for going on your bike ride. On vacation, I am more relaxed but indulge in things I cannot enjoy at home.

My wors teating is when the wife and kids are gone, not necessarily vacation. Looks like you did great after though!

You still pushed through and got your bike ride in, that is great!

When we go on vacation we typically book a place with a full kitchen so that we are able to cook most of our meals. My vacation (a couple weeks ago) went well as far as eating with the exception of some cookies, cake and adult beverages and I think those few things are the reason I came back 3 lbs heavier than when I left! lol I did get in 2 good runs while on vacation though, but I didn't over do since I was ON VACATION! haha

Haha I eat like crap on vacations. I'm never more excited to come home and dig into some veggies. But that's what vacations for, right?! haha

I have always eaten pretty good - but once I truly commited to eating well - I really started to notice that what I eat has a direct relationship to how I feel running, biking or just being. Obviously I still eat some foods that aren't "good" for you - but I eat small quantities and offset it with more vegie's.

Happy b-day to your Dad! At 54 - well - what can I say - I am older than your dad. ;-)

I usually try to eat relatively good on vacation but that usually goes out the window! I'm going on vacation this coming week (starting Sat.) I'm in my final few weeks before becoming lifetime with weight watchers so I really would like to control myself as much as possible. However, if I want to eat something, I'm going to!

Good job on going for the bike ride.

Oh I felt the same way yesterday. Junk food was not at all appealing. But I didn't feel like I had the energy to go to the gym! Eh. Ready to be back to it!

I know exactly what you mean about vacation food. I normally do well when we're vacation traveling, but we were at the lake this weekend, and everybody brings all the snack foods that leave a "food hangover." I am just starting my program, and decided to wait until today when I was back at home to get going. I loved your pictures!

Vacation is always great, but something about coming back to routine always makes me feel good.

I struggle with vacation because I'm not usually in charge of the food. My goal is to keep my overall average of 2 weeks good. I use nutrimirror to track my food and want to get all "green" in all the right areas. So, if my two week average is green, I don't care if I blew it for a day.

Moderation is the biggest thing for me. I don't need 10 smore's, and 1 won't kill me.

Its amazing how your body reacts to junk food! even one day of crappy eating can seriously throw your body off!

Ow do you make those Mango Black Bean Chicken Tacos? They sound delicious!

First off, congrats on the weight loss! Just incredible. You look totally fabulous. I agree- vacation can take its toll- but it always feels great to get back on a regular healthy eating train and sweat it up! Happy Birthday to your Daddy-o

OH my gosh I have felt this way too after this holiday weekend of "free" eating. More like free range eating. I felt awful on my first run. Felt a tiny bit better last night, but still. I can tell I was not fueling my body the way I should.

Congratulations on your Dad!

Your meals look delicious.

I usually eat more during vacation. I'm in my last of 3 weeks and the first week we were away and I ate way too much, the second week was already better and this week is better than last week. When I'm in my normal routine it's all much easier.

I eat the same cereal for breakfast and I love those Clif Kid organic Z bars- especially the chocolate brownie and peanut butter! When I'm on vaca I do my best to plan out my meals and go shopping for food as soon as I can once I get there so I am sure to have healthy snacks nearby!

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I am struggling with doing it "on my own" or Weight Watchers program. I really want to do it by myself, just lacking confidence. Your story is an inspiration. Thank you for sharing.

I'm with you on what you said about, "when will I learn that holidays are not a free for all?" It's so tough!! The answer to your question about "how do you eat when on vacation?" - I look forward to reading the comments left to see if I can find the answer to that one! ;)

Great job on getting back into it!!
