I'm prayin I don't get HURT. . . .

Straight up CRAZY!!!!

See I am NOT an expert or for that matter even an experienced mtn. biker! However I CAVED under pressure, well.....kinda! Dawn called me a few weeks ago and said I found a duathalon for us to do.....! I researched it and then heard it was pretty hard! So then I said NO! Well then today I got brave and called them and chatted to them about the course! They assured me it was indeed "technical"! However that I could do it, I just may need to dismount a few times!  If someone gives me the reassurance that they think I can do it. It gives me the total power to tell myself I CAN DO IT, then it makes me WANT to do it !!!!

So what is HURT IN THE DIRT???

It is a twilight off-road duathlon consisting of a twisting run course through the trees, over logs and through water of the Weber River bottoms and a spaghetti bowl mountain bike course through the sand, mud and dirt that surround the fort!!!! HUM???? Yup it's CRAZY!!!! No turning back though I am all registered.

WE ARE TEAM
MOUNTAIN HIKERS!!!!

Wish me luck on NOT getting Hurt in the Dirt!!!
If you are local, come try not to get hurt with me :)

I HIGHLY suggest you go ride the course numerous times, there is a coure map on the site, take it with you, learn the course inside and out, by going out and training on it, you can go at a more comfortable pace, not worry about other racers and gain confidence for the course. I guarantee if you do this, race day will be a 100% better experience.

I'm so impressed...you have some guts girl.

We hiked up a MB trail in the Manti/La Sal National forest near Moab this past weekend and I was like...hell to the no could I ride that. Actually, by the end I sorta wanted to try it...just need a mountain bike first.

You are really hitting all the great spots.

Super Cool! Love your sense of adventure and willingness to jump in and try something. My BF is Park City for a few days for work. He works for a bike company but isn't going to get any chance to do real riding on this trip and is uber bummed!

I agree, you should go ride the course before and get a feel for it in the daylight.

MTBing is my thing, the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

That link contains a vid of me riding with lads I met via my Blog and creaming in big style.

I still fall after nearly 30 years of off road riding, goes with the territory, I'm sure you'll do fine!

Cheers

That sounds like a fantastic time. I used to mountain bike quite a bit...I miss it. I liked the challenge of navigating logs and rocks.
