Mood. . . .

I am in dire need of some sunshine!!!!
For the last forever it seems it has been gray, gloomy, and down right dreary.
This is the LOVELY skies and view I get to enjoy day after day!!!
Come on Utah bring me spring!!! It's June 1st show me some sunshine.
 PLEASE!!!!!!!
It is totally messing with my head, mood, patience, and energy.
Seriously I have felt all of these ways today!
I am just glad I have a night out with the girls to look forward to!!!!!

I am headed out right now to get my 3 miles in for today.
I hope I stay dry :)

Do you find that the weather affects your mood?

We are just at the start of weinter in in Australia and I feel almost doomed by the long stretch of dark cold mornings ahead.....BUT....the change of seasons comes in a blink of an eye...

I wish we had skies like yours right now. Here in Az, it's gonna hit 110 degrees by this weekend! Yucky!:)

Maybe there's a weather fairy out there that can swap skies for us....

I right along with Gmontalvo - except it's FREAKING hot in Houston and humid. I was soaking wet just trying to put my bike in the car yesterday afternoon!

Let's consider a house swap. You can come to Houston and deal with 90+ degree weather. I will gladly take your Utah rain!

gloomy weather makes me really depressed. I get almost an instant burst of energy and pick-me-up when the sun comes out. I walk outside with my face up to the sun. It's really true what they say about sunlight!! We've had a gorgeous weather stretch in New England for days on end. It has thunderstormed today and I'm down in the dumps. I should stop being a spoiled brat I suppose..LOL

I'm super weather/mood dependant. Especially in the winter when I leave for work and its dark, and when I leave work its dark, in addition to the fact its probably 0 degrees with negative wind chills and snow. I have a hard time doing anything but wanting to go home, put on sweats, and leave my house... Its those days I have to go to the gym before work or right from work, because I don't leave the house more then I absolutely have to.

I feel you're pain, we had snow on the weekend and this girl is getting cranky!

The winter weather can get me down. I don't mind the rain so much. I like to keep a couple of books on hand and spend the afternoon reading with a huge mug of tea. It takes my mind off my bad mood.

We just had rain for days in NC too :( I wish it would only rain when I was sleeping!
I am definitely in a better mood when the sun is shining!
hope you get your sun soon!

Do you live in the Northwest? ;) I'm in Portland and it's been like 2 months of rain. It really affects my mood and I've been bummed out for awhile now!

This weather has been killing me too! My productivity is WAY down. Maybe your run will pull you out of the funk?

I live in the Northwest (Oregon) and it has been rainy. I am a Utahn (born and bred), though so I tell ya, I sure miss that sun. When it does come out here, though EVERYONE is out making the most of it. Although, people here make the most of the rain too! :)

Oh ya the weather affects my mood. Especially gloomy days. They do call it June Gloom after all. Come on Summer.

We actually love the gloomy, low-cloud days on our mountain. That's when I hit the treadmill in the basement for exercise. I do enjoy sunny hikes, too. Good mix here in Colorado@

Call me paranoid, but I've decided the heat and humidity (Houston) are trying to kill me. I'm going for 9 miles on Saturday and in order to have a hope of not keeling over, I'm going to have to start at 6am, so yep...I know what you mean about the weather effecting your mood!

Oh my goodness I completely understand how you feel! I didn't know the weather could seriously effect my mood until we had a 4 week stretch of rain and clouds. I was definitely feel down and had a lack of motivation. The sunshine we've been having in Minneapolis lately has truly lifted my spirits!

Thanks for stopping by my blog - I am a follower of you now. Hope I can be as successful losing the weight as you have been! I don't know about running long distances ON PURPOSE, but I do hope to drop 100 lbs by the new year!

100% without a doubt weather affects my mood. I live in Oregon and boy has it rained these last few weeks...not fun. I can't say I deal well with moody weather swings. The winter is a bad place for me and that's when I seem to gain the weight (it doesn't help that the holidays are around that time, too!). That said, I DO NOT need this "winter weather" to continue!!!

Way to go on continuing to get that run in despite the rain. Let's hope it clears up soon...for both of us!!

I always feel so much better when the weather is nice enough to be outside! Sunshine...God's vitamins for us! Literally!

Rain makes the humidity here even worse. But its offically hurricane season now so I guess I just need to suck it up and deal with it. :)

The weather does affect my mood and it's a struggle in the midst of a brutal winter, especially with antsy little ones....

Exercise helps. Getting out of the house helps....and reminding myself I'm not alone!

I am so with you girl.. I am sick of this UT weather! And they say we live in the desert?? I am tired of going to the gym to use the treadmill, I WANT to walkout side and not get wet... except for my sweat.

Sometimes the weather affects my mood. Sometimes the sun makes my heart soar and it makes me feel free and happy. Then other times I know how hot and muggy it's going to be and the sun makes me angry! I know as soon as I step out the door I won't be able to breathe because it's so hot, and I'll wonder why I bothered to take a shower as I start sweating as I'm locking my front door!

Hope you get some dry and sunny weather soon!

The weather definitely affects my mood. That's why I am a grumpy bitch all winter! Lol! ;)

I get SADD so yes, weather does effect my moods. Chicago winters are the worst and around February I want to move to Florida every year.

I find that weather has a HUGE impact on my mood... I do love rain and cloudy weather, but more than a day or two and I get gloomy... and really this weather in Utah has been crazy! I can't wait to get some sun!

Oh my goodness the weather affects my moods in the worse way. I really start getting sad after a few days of clouds and rain. I need sunshine to make me happy!

Carly said...

I totally know what you mean. I need the sunshine and the vitamin D to keep me going!

Lindsay @ http://pancakesnpajamas.blogspot.com/ said...

I definitely get this. If I don't get enough sunshine I can be such a crab.

I love to run in the rain!!! However, I am not good running in the cold during the winter :(

Keri said...

I'm so happy to hear someone else finally say it!! I was thinking I had seasonal affect disorder... even though I think thats just a lack of vitamin D or something hahahah. I play Wii and it makes me feel a little better about not getting out for a run ;)

Apparently it's been "scientifically" proven that weather such as this can effect your mood - make you feel depressed - I think it's something to do with our need for a certain amount of sunlight which we get Vitamin D from - I think you can get special lamps/lights to help out with that - I remember hearing that there was a state in the US somewhere that was grey most of the time and there was really high depression there because of this.
