Emigration Canyon

Tonight I rode up Emigration Canyon!
It is a 15.6 mile round trip ride, with a total elevation climb of 1,270 feet! I LOVED IT. I am hooked, there is something so incredible about climbing the hill and then pushing so hard through the switchbacks at the top. Knowing I powered though the hard and steep moments made it all worth it. It made me appreciate my mind and body.  What wonderful machines our bodies are!!!!
Wooohooo I made it to the top!!!!
My awesome friends and riding buddies!!!!
These girls told me me get into cycling and I am so glad I listened.
Notice the bandanna?
Yup that was a new thing I rode with today.  After having sweat drip in my eyes, sting, and burn during Saturdays ride this was a must!!! It totally saved me. . . . It was drenched post ride.

How do you keep the sweat out of your eyes?

Awesome ride Lindsay! Thanks for the bandanna idea. Just tonight, I was thinking about needing to find something to keep the sweat from dripping into my eyes. Not to mention, causing my glasses to slip off my face! lol I usually wear a baseball hat, which helps a little, but I still need something more.

I use a halo bandana thing. Works great.

Looking good, by the way.

Good job on pushing to the top! It's a great feeling, however I hate hills :)

I usually just use my glove to wipe the sweat away, gross I know!

Awesome! I'm going to be in Vancouver in the next week, and will be riding a bike for the first time since I was a kid eekk!!

I just bought a wicking headband from this etsy store:

I ran with it on Sunday, and it is awesome. She shipped super fast - in a couple of days too.

Sounds like a great ride. I don't do anything in particular to keep the sweat out of my eyes, but the bandana might help me from breaking out from wearing my helmet. I'll have to give it a try!

My helmet seems to soak up my sweat..maybe that's why it smells..LOL.

I am loving all these biking posts!

I usually use a BondiBand. They work pretty well.

I am loving hearing about your biking adventures! I was wondering if you are still running also? If so, how do you have time/energy for half marathon training and 2 hour bike rides at night? I can barely make it through the day after I do long runs in the morning!

I am so jealous that you have a group of friends to ride with. This is one of the reasons that I sold my bike. I didn't have anyone to ride with. POO. Anyways...I run with a bandanna. It keeps the sweat out of my eyes.

So jealous of your rides. I wish we had roads like that. I love climbing!

I haven't actually tried this but I've heard that chapstick above the eyebrows works to keep sweat from dripping into them. I would think that you DO NOT use the same stick for your brows and your lips?!?

You. Are. Amazing. So happy! Totally in the element! Found your stride. Keep it up.

I've loved reading about your bike week! I've got a hybrid bike (in between a mountain bike and a road bike) and love it. I so badly want to switch to a road bike but am petrified. Your posts have made me reconsider. Way to go all the way up that canyon. Quite an accomplishment. You give me hope!

Just found your blog. I am going to become a follower (and enter the Road ID giveaway) - great job on reclaiming YOUR LIFE!

I am training for a 150 (2 day-75 ea) mile bike ride in August and to keep sweat out of my eyes while biking - I wear a bondiband under my helmet - they work perfect.

Look forward to reading more.
