My First Zumba Class

What is Zumba?
It is a dance fitness program that combines Latin and International music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun!

Was it fun?
Yes it was a BLAST!!! I loved that there were people of all walks of life in this class, the young, the old, the beginners, the pros, the fit, and the unfit! It was fun to just JUMP around and DANCE :) Even though I made made a total fool of myself.
Was I coordinated???
Um NO not all!!! I was almost an embarrassment to my cute friend Julie!

Will I do another class?
YES!!!! Only if my friends will let me go again ;)

Have you done Zumba? Do you like it? Does this make you want to try it?

Today is a rest day, so no workout for me.
Have A Happy Friday Everyone!

Neato! I've wondered about Zumba, I have a bunch of friends that do it! Looks fun!

Haven't tried it out yet. Have thought about it cause they just started offering it to staff here. Little nervous cause I have ZERO rhythm. I only will dance if I have been drinking....they would likely frown upon that in a Zumba class huh? LOL!

I have heard good things about Zumba, but haven't tried it yet! Sounds fun!

I love love love Zumba. I consider it my fat burning day and my day to destress and dance til my heart's content. I can't samba to save my life however, so I stick to the pony (I swear you have to be Brazilian or Puerto Rican to samba).

You may also want to check out Nightclub Cardio if it's offered in your area. Another to reason to dance around, this time with the lights out and the disco ball glowing!

I've always wanted to try zumba but they dont have it at my gym!

I have it at my gym and don't go. I am beyond not being coordinated. I tried another dance class while ago and I jsut didnt get a good work out because I was concentrating on the steps too much. I'm glad you had fun!

Zumba looks fun, but I feel like I'd have no idea what was going on! So many moves!

I have a zumba video that I do at home and it really is a lot of fun!

You in NO WAY embarrassed me, because I was too busy embarrassing myself!! The class was a blast, and I must say FAR MORE INTENSE than the video you show. Our instructor was a hyper crazy lady who kept us dancing, jumping, squatting, etc. at a ridiculous pace the whole hour! I'm certain my heart rate was out the roof. But it was a great time to let my freak flag fly!!

Yes! I want to try Zumba but I do not yet have the nerve to go to a class. I may see about the home DVD you can get. ;)

I can't remember where I saw your blog and then I saw you commented on Mechelle's. What a small world.

Well done on all of the running!

I would love to try Zumba. My gym doesn't offer classes. I would love to know where an al la carte type gym is so I can try one out. :)

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my blog. I took my very first Zumba class a few months back and it was a blast! I seriously wish I could do it more often, but most places around here you have to have a gym membership.

I'm off to read about you! Looks like you have a great little blog here. Cheers!

I loved it and definitely had a lot of fun.I've thought about going back but it's always so packed. I don't know if I would say it was an awesome workout either, good, but not awesome.

I've never tried Zumba, but I hear so many great things about it. I also have horrible coordination! I took step aerobics once and you would have thought I was on fire the way I was running around and throwing my arms.

Glad you had fun!

Ahhh, I LOVE Zumba. I take the class once a week, and I've been dragging my friends along to join me. We all suffer from lack-of-coordination too, but we have a blast anyway, and get a great workout in the mean time. Glad you liked your first try!

Funny that you should mention Zumba! That is the next class on my "gotta try it" list!

I actually went to my my 1st cycling/spinning class today (Friday) and loved it. I am always afraid to go to the classes because am afraid to get lost in all the instructions and steps that you are suppose to follow :)

But I will be trying Zumba next :)

Zumba was the first thing I tried when I started my journey. I'm not really sure what I was thinking using THAT as my "stepping out of my comfort zone" first. I have never been very good at following the leader and I have never ever been very coordinated. I took 4 classes and called it quits moving on to water aerobics until I took up running. haha - I may go back someday...It was a really good workout, I just found myself way too concerned with not having the moves down that I stressed myself out!

thanks so much for commenting on my blog :)
Congratulations on ally our successes - you are amazing and an inspiration for me for sure!

I love zumba, it's offered at my gym and I go about once a week. If I had more free time I'd definitely go more :)

My friend teaches zumba and it is soo fun! But it is definitely an intense workout bc it is so high energy and non stop!

That looks like fun!!

I LOVE Zumba! you get as much out of it as you put in, and you don't have to be co-ordinated.

I love Zumba! It is so much fun, and yes I am not cordinated and can't shake my bootie to save my soul. But I sure am a sweaty mess when the hour is over and I know I have burned a lot of calories. The instructor I go to is a very up fast class also I take it twice a week, and would love to do it 3 times.
