Utah Weather is CRAZY!!!!
Today I ran my first 5 miles!!! Well 5.4 to be exact :)
When I started out my run it was semi sunny and nice! About 10 minutes into it I was greeted by ugly gray skies, about 5 more minutes and HAIL, it was hitting my teeth and getting stuck in my eye lashes. Once the hail passed it was rainy and windy!!!!! This wasn't going to stop me from running my first 5 mile run though :)
The temperature was a cool 49 degrees.
I was STRONG though and finished PROUD!!!
Today I ran 5.4 miles in 1 hour and 11 seconds!!!!
I would have NEVER thought I could do this until I tried.
What have you accomplished that you thought you NEVER could?

Congrats Lindsay on your first 5.4 ;) mile run!! Way to go! What have I accomplished that I haven't thought I could? Pull-ups! I've been trying forever to master a pull-up and I am finally there! I am up to 5 chin-ups (easier version) and one full pull-up. Yay!

Yay! Congrats on 5 miles!
I'm still working on my accomplishment, I never thought I could lose more than 10 pounds. I've never lost more than that, but this time around I'm determined to lose that and more.
Congrats on a great run! Even through hail! You're a trooper for sure :)
Congrats! That is so cool. You looks strong and fit!
I am working out with weights, never use to think I would do that!
Now that is persiverance!! Way to go!!
5 miles in hail and crazy rain & wind? Now that's impressive! BTW I passed on a blogger award to you in my latest post.
I'm still working on my latest goal - running a half marathon.....some day!
Wow you finished your run in hail! Hardcore!!
Congratulations on your five! The fact that you ran in hail makes it more like 10 in my book!
Hi Lindsay, YOU ROCK!! Way to go - that is a great accomplishment. I accomplished today, what I thought I would never do and that is...I finally got on a rowboat! There were 16 people on the boat, we did racing starts, rowing drills and even played chicken with a barge...just for a second. That was scary!! It was fantastic. I would encourage everyone to try something they thought they would never do. It's life changing!!
Congrats! And good for you for not letting the weather get you down.
Wow! Congrats!!! :) And in a storm no less. Amazing...
Well, I just started running and I would have never thought that I could run for a full two minutes. I know that sounds lame, but it is a big deal for me! :)
Wow, that's AWESOME!!! I can't believe you ran through hail! : )
How did you start out running? Did you build up from walking to jogging to running or have you always been a runner?
Go YOU!!
Wow you are so awesome!!!! I think I'm going to be a runner...when I have a little less fat to flop around! :)
I don't think even a postal worker would've run in that! :D
Way to Go, Lindsay!
Congratulations. You have mountains of determination. I finished my 1st Turbo Kickboxing class (and the last chance workout one to boot) today. It's been many moons since I finished a class. I usually come up with some lame excuse about being overheated (not really an excuse) but today I worked through it and finished.
You didn't let a little rain, wind or hail stop you! Awesome.
Bravo!! I love how you persevered no matter what :D
I just did a 60 mile bike ride, never have gone that far before!
Very cool! Way to go, through hail and back :)
Awesome job! Man, I wish we had your weather...well kinda...not the hale part - that's just crazy, but totally jealous of the 49 - it was 86 while I was running and ridiculously humid. Ugh. =)
What fun pictures...so cute! congratulations. That run definitely belongs in the Weight Loss Warrior's Battle Log. :)
Deb
dang you are kicking some serious running booty!!! I have a 5k soon and I can't even run 3 miles... actually I cant even run 1! yikes!
xo
you are a rock star! I wish my eyelashes were long enough to catch hail! this is just the beginning....way to go! love the shorts...where did you get them?
Congrats to YOU! that's major accomplishment, and I hope you are VERY proud of yourself.
The weather here in Ohio has been crazy too. This afternoon it was 45 degrees and raining, then this evening it was sunny and almost 75. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 85 degrees!
Congrats! That is so exciting! I am still intimidated by being able to run a mile, but I'll make it! This was a very inspiring post!!! Thanks so much for sharing it :)
Congrats! Milestones like that are awesome aren't they? Nice job!
Pur weather in CA is crazy too. It's the middle of May and I'm still sleeping in fleece pj's :)
nice job!
and i have to say, i'm so glad you started this blog now for you (& us) to continue documenting your journey. ;-)
That happened to my hubby and I mid run on a 4 miler, only we had the kids in the doublejogger. I felt like a HORRIBLE Mom.. Thankfully I brought the rain cover or they would have been pelted with hail. CONGRATS!
You rock! Way to go!
Congrats on your first 5.4.. you're right this is crazy weather we are having. Way to hang in there and run is such crazy unpredictable weather.

Lindsay, that is so cool you are outside running in the hail!
I did a marathon today - I never thought I could accomplish that!
Weather in Utah sounds like British weather!
Haha, that sounds like Alaskan weather all the time! I have lost 37lbs so far.. never thought I could do that!
Great job running 5.4 miles today!!! Congrats on the weight loss.
I, too, have used running to loose weight; 40 lbs. Yesterday, I did my longest long run, 9 miles, in preparation for my first half marathon at the end of June. I never thought that I could run that far. Well, I did walk at mile 2, 4.5, and 7 ... but still I did 9 miles!!!
Congratulations on your weight loss and run. I am still trying to learn to love running...I'm just not there yet. Your blog is so motivating, and I am so proud of you. I have lost 30 pounds, and have another 40 to go. Boy is it ever hard. I am so glad you found my blog, so I could find yours. You are now on my blog roll of favorite blogs. Can't wait to see what else you accomplish.
Have a wonderful day.

Hey, Lindsay! Thank you for stopping by my blog! Yes, blisters are so frustrating! It's not really an "injury" but it sure is just as debilitating! Hopefully you aren't dealing with anything similar right now.
Congrats on your recent long run! You have every right to be so so proud of yourself, and I hope you have so many more successes and confidence-boosting runs soon! :) Keep up all your great work!

Enjoyed the reading! I've been looking for the effective gear to improve my runs and stumbled upon militarygradenutritionals.com/blog/. Besides many useful advices, I have also read there about natural nutritional supplements called military grade, which help athletes and military to enhance their endurance. I have tried the ones they've written about and was impressed how quickly my tone went up. I was able to double my distances and had enough energy even after the finish! This product makes my trainings much more effective.
