Wasatch Boulevard

Me being so smart just grabbed the pump on my way out the door, still in its package. So when I got to where I was riding, it was super challenging to open!!!! It was majorly zip tied! It was comical trying to open it. Luckily one of my friends had a nifty knife and I was able to use my pump!
I had never pumped a road tire before that was a lesson, I think I'll have to teach y'all!!!
Okay it's a SERIOUS arm work out pumping a tire!!!!
We road a 30 mile loop. 2 hours 12 minutes and my avg. pace was 13.5. calories 1997!!!!
A first for me I GU'ed!!!!!
Okay now on to the RIDE!!!!
I felt awesome pretty much the whole time EXCEPT for one NASTY climb. I could not for the life of me shift into a easier gear to climb! It was AWFUL, I climbed the whole hill in a HARD gear @ like 3.4 mph. My legs are SO sore tonight, like throbbing!!! I LOVE feeling the workout after though.
So I headed straight to Bingham my bike shop and in a matter of minutes. I learned that a) I was shifting wrong, so operator error. b) There was a wire hitting something making it difficult to move the chain, the way he explained it was WAY to technical for me :) I was in and out with my bike fixed super quick, so the next climb will ROCK!!!
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!!!

Do you like to feel the pain after a workout?

Great looking ride. Fun to read about people just getting into riding - nice job.

Yes, getting up the next day and feeling a little sore is a good thing - means you were out doing something - and that's always good.

I did a 15K today- 9 miles- on the bike. I was inside though so it wasn't exactly fun. Your energy and excitement is contagious! Keep it up girl!

I have a little fixed gear that I ride around for transportation, and I can NEVER pump the tires on my own! My friend would pump them up for me and it would look so easy. My tires are supposed to be at 100 psi and I can pump it past 60. :P So hard! I feel like I get more of a workout with the tire pump than I do riding. :P

You are doing awesome with your bike. I just did my first 25 miles this past week. It was awesome! I struggled a little with my energy at the end. Not quite where I need to be fitness wise, but I am sure trying!! I worked really hard on this trip and felt great after it was over!! My hubby was ready for another ride that evening, but I was not quite there :-) Keep on going ~ you're doing great!! Hugs!

Glad you got your shifting adjusted--it'll make for much nicer climbing! This was one of my favorite rides ever. Perfect weather, awesome route, and great friends--doesn't get better than that!!

For the most part I love the pain...it's that beyond tired fatigue in the legs feeling that happens.
You are doing freakin' awesome!
How was the GU? :)

Good for you!!
Love your bike!

If it's a "sore" pain, YES. If it's a "wtf I hope something isn't broken" pain, then definitely NO.

Bike ride looks and sounded like so much fun! I really really need to get myself a road bike!

Having to add 60 more PSI, you should log it as an upper body workout. The very first thing I was taught in reference to biking was to always check your air pressure before a ride, makes a world of difference.

I love the pain feeling post workout, the next morning, not so much

I am OCD about pumping my bike tires! Your shoes match your bike....you are so stylin'!!!

I don't mind pain after a workout. It's the pain during the workout that I tend to HATE :)

By the way...you and I are the EXACT opposites when it comes to cycling and running! I LOVE running, but HATED cycling. You make it look so fun; however, I remember how much I tried to make myself like something that I didn't. NOT WORTH IT!! I think riding rather than running is just fine! Go get um :)

I left you a blog award on my blog! I don't know if you do the award thing... some bloggers don't. I'm to pass it onto newly discovered blogs, and I'm totally a new fan of yours!
